Video 1: For Honors I did two videos and in this small video I am going to be reading an excerpt from an article in Spanish, to test out my pronunciation.
In this first video of only 33 seconds, the article that I read from was called "Las mujeres no escriben. Y cuando escriben, se suicidan" and the excerpt I read was, 'Cristina pertenece a una generación fabulosa en las letras latinoamericanas, la que empezó a darse a conocer en la década de los 60 y explotó en toda su dimensión en los 70. La generación que hizo que muchos críticos y lectores consideren a la de América Latina como la gran literatura mundial de la segunda mitad del siglo XX.'
Video 2: In this second video I am going to be answering five different questions like: * Why is there a need for bilingual citizens? * How does knowing multiple languages create academic opportunities in high school and higher education? * What are the social implications for speaking a language other than English in public spaces, i.e. school, work, the grocery store, etc.? * Are there social incentives to speak more than one language? * How do you anticipate the work in this class to be meaningful to you?
